Tamannah has cleared the air by saying that no one had approached her so far to play the female protagonist in the Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots, which would be directed by Shankar.
No, the reports are not true. I have not been offered the role so far, the actress says, adding: The Hindi original is a huge hit and I am hopeful that the Tamil version too will be equally big.
Interestingly, if the role is offered to Tamannah, she would for the second time play a character played by Kareena Kapoor. The first time was in Kanden Kadhalai, which was inspired by Jab We Met.
Buzz is that the Tamil version of 3 Idiots would bring together Shankar and Vijay for the first time. Music will be by Harris Jayaraj. Remember Shankar worked as an associate to Vijays father S A Chandrasekaran before becoming a director.
